Who We Help
The 7 Skills We Build
This camp experience (and our 1-1 coaching programs) are built around seven important executive function skills. These are the mental and emotional tools that help kids manage themselves, their emotions, and the world around them:
Self-Monitoring
Knowing what you're doing while you're doing it, and catching yourself before a small problem becomes a big one.
Working Memory
Holding onto important information while you're in the middle of something, so you don't lose the thread when things get busy or stressful.
Goal Setting
Turning "I want to do better" into an actual plan, and sticking with it even when it gets hard.
Organizing & Prioritizing
Knowing what to do first when everything feels urgent, and managing time without constant reminders.
Emotional Regulation
Recognizing what you're feeling, understanding what set it off, and knowing what to do with it before it takes over.
Somatic Regulation
Reading the signals your body sends when you're stressed or overwhelmed, and using breath and movement to reset.
Cognitive Flexibility
Changing course when the plan breaks, seeing things from someone else's point of view, and staying calm when things feel uncertain.
What Sets Us Apart
So many families today feel let down by our education system. Too-large class sizes, overextended teachers, and curriculum packed to the brim often leave individualized support, and the life skills that will actually help kids navigate adulthood, falling through the cracks. Even in homeschooling environments, parents can find themselves facing communication breakdowns or repeating the same guidance that, while well-intended and valuable, simply isn’t landing. This is where our approach makes a difference. At REACH, we strategically pair students with coaches who fit; people with whom they naturally connect, relate, and can feel safe opening up. This alignment alone can change everything. We've found that when wisdom comes from someone outside the parent-child dynamic, especially as they get older, children are often more receptive, curious, and willing to try new strategies. By leveraging the power of these healthy role-model relationships, we fill in the gaps the traditional systems leave unaddressed. We help students understand more than just what to learn, but why it matters, and how to approach it with confidence, regulation, and integrity. Our careful matching process ensures each learner is supported by a coach who understands their interests, learning style, and growth edges, creating a safe and reliable connection where guidance can be received rather than resisted. Our method applies mindful strategies rooted in science- and evidence-based understandings to build the habits and internal skills that carry students far beyond the classroom. We’re building a supportive, whole-family ecosystem for the Greater Houston area and beyond (in-person and online!). Through personalized and targeted life skills mentorship, we help young people grow in ways that feel meaningful, sustainable, and deeply human.
